About Our School

New Lane Memorial Elementary School is located at 15 New Lane, between Middle Country Road and Mooney Pond in Selden, NY.  New Lane opened in 1970 and is the largest of 10 elementary schools in the Middle Country Central School District.  New Lane is located about 55 miles west of NYC and about 15 minutes from Long Island beaches.  The approximate enrollment is around 900 students in grades 1-5.

The New Lane faculty and staff are dedicated to providing an environment that provides for academic success while nurturing values, character and commitment to kindness, charity and friendship.  The family/ school relationship is an important factor in making New Lane an outstanding place of learning.  This is also evident and necessary with our partnership with the PTA of New Lane, who help provide many wonderful and exciting events for our children.
